The 18th Annual Illinois BBQ Championship will convene at BBQ's Field of Dreams in Shannon, IL on Friday and Saturday, July 10 and 11. Over 50 teams from all over the county will vie for cash and prizes.
This competition is a double-header with 2 great contests:
The Butt to Butt Invitational:
* Top Pork Shoulder cookers compete Butt to Butt
    * Begins on Friday with awards ceremony Friday night
    * Compete for cash, prizes and the Coveted Boar's Tooth Award
         
Illinois State BBQ Championship:   * Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS) sanctioned contest
      * 4 BBQ Categories compete for Grand and Reserve Champions
Grand champion qualify for the American Royal Invitational BBQ contest in Kansas City and the Jack Daniel's World Championship Invitational pool.
      * 2 additional Categories of competition
